'Best Newcomer' Prize for FitzGerald at Radio Awards

A producer with a Scots production company is among the prize-winners at an awards ceremony celebrating the best of radio production.

Last night, Cathy FitzGerald was named Best Newcomer at the Radio Production Awards. It follows her work for Rockethouse Productions, which is based in North Berwick, East Lothian.

FitzGerald, who is based in Essex, was nominated thanks to her work on programmes such as The Magic Carpet Flight Manual, charting the history of 'flying carpets'.

As reported yesterday on allmediascotland, among the nominees was Gus Beattie, of The Comedy Unit, who was up for Best Entertainment Producer.
