Highland TV Production Company Relaunches as 'Iambic Scotland' Following Purchase

A Highlands independent TV production company has been relaunched by its new owners, to pursue arts and culture commissions in Scotland.

Iambic Media has announced the launch of two new divisions, Iambic Entertainment and Iambic Scotland, with the latter following Iambic's recent acquisition of Muckrach Media, set up two years ago by producers Andy Picheta and Rebecca Ferrand.

Says a statement issued by Iambic Media: “Iambic Scotland will build on the company's arts and cultural output, particularly in Scotland, overseen by former Muckrach Media owners Picheta and Ferrand.”

Iambic Media is run by ex-DCD Media CEO Chris Hunt, who is quoted in the statement, saying: “These are heady times for Iambic. We are delighted to be joined by two first-rate teams, both led by great talents whom we have known for several years and who make an excellent fit with our existing operations. Iambic has bucked the trend by having a couple of very successful years, and these developments will increase our range of output and create exciting opportunities.”

Heading Iambic Entertainment is Iain Thompson who has series produced and directed programming for UK and international organisations including BBC, Lionsgate, Endemol and ITV Studios.

Recent Iambic Media productions include the Emmy-nominated King Lear (Channel 4) starring Ian McKellen, The Michael Jackson Story (ITV1), The Abba Years (Five) and Imagine: Placido Domingo – The Time of My Life (BBC One).
