Naughtie's Dulcet Tones Come out Tops

The dulcet tones of Scots BBC presenter, James Naughtie, have been named as the best radio voice in Britain to wake up to, according to a scientific study.

Reports the Scottish Daily Express, the Aberdeenshire-born broadcaster, who began his journalistic career as a graduate trainee journalist on the Press and Journal and also worked at The Scotsman, and is one of the main presenters of Radio 4’s Today programme, was found to be the one most likely to lift the mood of listeners first thing in the morning.

Says the paper: “Naughtie came top in a series of lab tests which recorded the brain and body’s reaction to the various breakfast-time presenters. Volunteers were wired up to monitors by researchers in the study commissioned by fruit juice giant, Tropicana, as well as being asked a series of questions about the voices played.”
