Radio Stations Invite Issued by Ofcom

Applications are being sought to operate the next generation of community radio stations in Scotland.

Broadcasting regulators, Ofcom, are inviting applications, with a deadline set for February 14.

Says Ofcom: “Licences are being offered for providing services on either the FM – VHF – waveband or the AM – medium wave – band, for an initial maximum period of five years.”

In judging applications, Ofcom will consider to what extent a new station might unduy prejudice the economic viability of any other local service.
