For a weekly newspaper such as the East Kilbride News, it’s not every year that April 1 lands on publication date.
And so, last Wednesday, the paper ran its April Fools’ joke, suggesting that US property tycoon, Donald Trump, was thinking of abandoning plans to build a golf course resort in Aberdeenshire, for a site in East Kilbride.
There was even a quote from an Alf Porilo.
But it didn’t stop the picture desk of one national, daily newspaper contacting the News for directions to the location.
