Husband and Wife Team Behind Happy Lets Wins Young Achievers Prize at Scottish Asian Business Awards

Bobby and Preet Sandhu, the husband and wife team behind Happy Lets, the burgeoning residential letting and property management service, have won the young achievers prize at the annual Scottish Asian Business Awards.

The accolade comes just five months after the couple relaunched and rebranded their business from Harlequin Lets to Happy Lets with a mission to help you find your happy place.

Preet Sandhu said, “We were honoured to receive the award for Young Achievers and hope to prove ourselves worthy of this accolade by continuing to grow as a business. Bobby and I are absolutely delighted to win this prestigious award, which we accept on behalf of our hard-working team. Our recent rebranding was based on a determination to provide a fresh alternative to the status quo and communicate a positive message in these challenging economic times – and this award means that it’s definitely happy times ahead for Happy Lets!”

Charan Gill said, “I am delighted that Bobby and Preet's achievements have been recognised with this award. As a father I take immense pride from the fact that my daughter and her husband have shown that, with a combination of hard work, entrepreneurial flair and a positive attitude, businesses can not only survive, but thrive during a recession to emerge out the other side in robust financial shape ready to prosper over the years ahead. I congratulate them both on their tremendous achievement.”

Present at the glittering ceremony were First Minister Alex Salmond, Secretary of State for Scotland, Jim Murphy; Baroness Sayeeda Warsi and Preet’s father, Charan Gill MBE.

Aged 27 and 26 respectively, Bobby and Preet Sandhu may be young achievers, but they are experienced landlords and property managers, having been in the letting industry for over 10 years.

With offices in Glasgow’s West End and in Hamilton, they manage a £60 million property portfolio of over 800 properties across Glasgow and Lanarkshire. They also work in partnership with landlords and institutions that have stocks of unsold properties and want an income stream in the short to medium term until the property market picks up again.

Previously operating under the Harlequin brand, the firm was founded when property entrepreneur Bobby married business management graduate Preet and added the management of Charan Gill’s various property investments to Bobby’s burgeoning enterprise.

Happy Lets offers a diverse portfolio of properties – from one bedroom studio flats to six bedroom homes but, regardless of the property, at the heart of its day-to-day management services lies one simple philosophy.

Said Bobby, “We are focused on providing a high standard of service and management to our landlords, tenants and properties alike. This is the simple, but fundamental to a successful let from beginning to end and is what we incorporate into our daily management service. Our mission is to create happy landlords, happy tenants and happy homes!”
