One of Scotland’s largest Wedding Exhibitions is set to make a return to Aberdeen this weekend as businesses, both large and small look to take advantage of the lucrative wedding industry.
Having attracted over 3,000 people last year, this year’s Your Wedding Exhibition (YWE) will take place at AECC in Aberdeen on 16th and 17th January and is set to feature over 180 different exhibitors.
“The past year has been challenging for large and small businesses alike,” comments Simon Morgan, Director of YWE Ltd. “However, it has been noticed that the tough economic climate seems to have left the wedding industry relatively unaffected with the average spend expected to be in the region of £16,000 and £18,000 per wedding. This is great news for local businesses looking towards prospective brides and grooms to generate 2010 business.
“Due to the continued popularity of this annual event, we had to extend exhibition space this year as spaces were sold out as early as November. The huge success of 2009 proved to be a catalyst for 2010 bookings.
“For many small exhibitors, this is the only real chance they get to showcase their products or services to the wider public, north of the central belt. We continue to support these local businesses as they have come to recognise this exhibition as an essential platform for generating new trade. Last year alone, one videographer snapped up £200,000 worth of confirmed orders,” said Simon.
The show will host a complete spectrum of wedding related suppliers, from photographers, fashion, florists, beauty and cakes to the more unusual laser eye treatment and hog roast suppliers. An impressive array of wedding cars ranging from the vintage Rolls Royce to the gross stretch limousine will also be on display, both within and outside the exhibition centre.
The fashion shows, which run twice daily at 12 and 3pm, will be moved from the main exhibition hall to AECC’s Gordon Hall in order to accommodate more audience. The wedding show will be open from 10am to 5pm on both days.
Tickets cost £8 for adults, with children under 16 free. A group of four receives entry for £30. For further information, visit www.yweltd.com.
