St Valentine

La Parmigiana, Glasgow’s finest restaurant for classic Italian cuisine, will open its doors on a Sunday for the first time in its 32 year history when it offers romantics the perfect venue to celebrate St Valentine’s Day this February 14th.

The longest established Italian restaurant in Glasgow that remains under the ownership of the family that founded it, La Parmigiana doors have always remained firmly shut to the public on Sundays – until now.

Proprietor Sandro Giovanazzi said, “With St Valentine’s Day falling on a Sunday this year, we felt that, in the name of romance, the time was right to make an exception to our traditional Sunday closure.

“This year we are running a special St Valentine’s Weekend Menu, running from Saturday 13th February through to Sunday 14th February, offering romantics to treat their loved ones to some classic Italian fine dining in a traditional, intimate setting. Our traditional Sunday closure will, however, be restored following St Valentine’s Day.”

La Parmigiana’s St Valentine’s Weekend menu features Kir Royale followed by a selection of starters comprising: lobster ravioli with a tomato and cream sauce with fresh basil; red onion and red wine soup with tomatoes and thyme; deep fried oysters in bread crumbs served with a spicy tomato sauce and French bean and sun dried tomato salad with ricotta and mozzarella.

Main courses, meanwhile, comprise a selection from: monkfish fillet roasted with Parma ham and baby new potatoes; tagliolini with smoked salmon; supreme of guinea fowl stuffed with porcini and white grapes in a Grappa sauce; escallop of veal topped with Parma ham and sage, served with an asparagus risotto; tortelloni with spinach and ricotta and chargrilled rib eye of beef.

The St Valentine’s dessert menu comprises: crème brulèe with Baileys served with Belgian chocolate ice cream; chocolate mousse with pistachio and chilli and champagne jelly with blackberry.

La Parmigiana’s St Valentine’s Weekend menu is priced at £35.00pp.
