Cookie, the eatery, deli and shop in Glasgow’s southside, has launched a unique ‘Cook-In’ venture by extending an open invitation to customers to pop in every Monday from 6pm for an evening of cross cultural conversation and food.
With no waiter service and a surprise menu, the novel venture invites customers to lend a hand setting the table, help prepare the food, pour themselves a pint of St Mungo and chew the fat – and put money into a pot to cover food costs (drink prices as normal).
Cookie’s co-owner, Domenico del Priore, said, “Our Cook-In format features a regular series of cultural events – from film clubs, book readings to art exhibitions to creating a cross-cultural melting pot in the southside centred around food.”
The first Cook-In takes place on Monday 22nd Feb at 6.00pm.
The Cook-In is the latest part of Cookie’s ongoing programme to break down the barriers between food production, distribution, preparation and consumption from its base at 72 Nithsdale Road, Pollokshields, Glasgow.
