Property maintenance firm One Call Home Assist has continued its ambitious expansion plans by signing up six major Scottish lettings firms as its official business partners.
The firm, which provides fixed price maintenance contracts for landlords and property managers, has signed up the Lothian-based companies to join its expanding list of residential property customers in Scotland.
Under the agreement, the firms – which include Verve Property, Arden Property Management, Edinburgh Pearl Lettings, Live and Let, 1st Choice and Martin & Co – will be official ‘partners’ of One Call Home Assist.
The firms will offer the Home Assist property maintenance contracts to landlords and tenants on their books – and a percentage of the contract fee will then be recouped by each firm that signs up a new customer to the service.
John Dickson, One Call Home Assist’s national sales director, said: “We’re delighted that these big property firms have signed up to be official Home Assist partners. By teaming up with us, they will be able to offer the Home Assist contract as an extra service to every property owner and tenant on their databases.
“The attraction for partner firms is that they receive a percentage of every contract that is sold, so there is a real financial incentive to get as many properties signed up to Home Assist.
“Another benefit is that we offer a unique service that guarantees all emergency maintenance issues will be fixed on time and with the minimum of hassle. Rather than the landlord or property manager having to worry about a broken boiler or burst pipes, we will take the call directly from the tenant whenever there is an emergency.
“No-one else in the UK is providing this kind of all-in-one service and it is already proving hugely popular in the Scottish rental sector. We’ve sold thousands of individual contracts across the country and now we are taking on large lettings firms as official partners for Home Assist, as they are realising what a great deal we offer.”
The new partner firm sign ups come as One Call Home Assist continues its ambitious expansion plans across the country – which in recent months has seen the firm relocate to a new headquarters in Edinburgh, carry out a major re-branding drive and start offering the service to property companies in Glasgow and Fife.
Paul Barry, owner of Verve Property Consultants, said: “I’m very happy to be offering the Home Assist service to all of the landlords on our books. It is a fantastic package that takes away all of the hassle of property maintenance, leaving me to get on with the other important parts of the business.
“With any rented property, there’s always a chance that you’ll get a phone call at 3am from tenants complaining about broken boilers or burst pipes. One of the big attractions of Home Assist was that the One Call team takes the calls instead and are available 24/7 to cover any emergencies.
“I’ve used other maintenance companies in the past who have proved to be a letdown, but I’ve been very impressed with the One Call service so far. It covers every kind of maintenance issues you can think of at a reasonable price, so I’m happy to be offering it as a service to landlords using Verve Property.”
One Call Home Assist was launched in Edinburgh in March 2009 and its fixed-price contracts cover all emergency repair work to electrical, plumbing and heating systems, as well as general maintenance issues. The contracts also cover all PAT and gas safety testing.
The service offers a range of fixed prices contracts depending on size of the property and type of maintenance cover required – with an all-in contract for a one-bed flat costing £32.99 a month (inc VAT). All the work is carried out by One Call Home Assist’s expert in-house contractor teams who operate on a round the clock basis from their base in Edinburgh.
One Call Home Assist has been launched by One Call Trade Services, one of Scotland’s leading all trades contractors providing insurance repairs, maintenance and renovations to clients throughout the UK.
