North East Haulage Firm Opens Dutch Base After Less than a Year of Trading

An Aberdeenshire haulage firm is celebrating the opening of an office in the Netherlands after less than a year of trading.

Kinellar-based Grampian Continental – which also has an office in Great Yarmouth – was founded by directors Gavin Murray, Michael Lacey and Neil Bremner last summer.  Its fleet comprises more than 30 vehicles and 60 trailers which operate throughout the UK, Europe and North Africa for customers from a wide range of industries including oil and gas, and renewable energy.

Grampian Continental is one of just a handful of companies to boast the ISO9001 (quality management systems) and ISO14001 (environment management systems) accreditations and the OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety certificate.

Today (Monday, March 1st) sees the opening of the Dutch office under the name GC Continental Logistics bv and the Ijmuiden branch will be headed up by operational directors Mark Hoogenboom and Raymond van der Stelt.

Commenting on the success and ongoing expansion of Grampian Continental, director Gavin Murray said: “Our new office will provide an excellent base from which we can service our increasing number of customers on mainland Europe.”
