North-east Photographer Launches Full-service Stock Photography Agency

Award-winning north east photographer Nicholas Frost has announced the launch of his new, full-service stock photography agency - GAZOU – featuring stunning images from the very highest, inaccessible peaks of Scotland down to the coastal beaches and forest floors, as well as the finest international cityscapes and places of worldwide beauty and interest.

GAZOU is not a typical stock image library. Nicholas’s team of contributors are generally mountaineers and outdoor enthusiasts who’ve reached the remotest corners of Scotland’s mountain ranges in often the most extreme winter conditions.  Their travel images are just as exciting, vibrant and diverse.

GAZOU was created by Nicholas to provide photo buyers with better access to his team of contributors and their images. The company works closely with creative professionals to understand their concerns and meet their exacting standards by delivering the images they need, in the format they prefer and with the technical reliability they require.

GAZOU’s library provides high-quality limited-use (rights-managed) stock images for use by web designers, media companies, local authorities, airports and travel companies for all manner of marketing and promotional campaigns.

GAZOU also supplies high quality finished fine art products to businesses and the public who may be looking for wall or canvas art. Projects can be undertaken whereby a member of the team consults with the client to discuss ideas, decor and what compliments their style to create an individual collection.

GAZOU also introduces the novel “bundle rights” concept, which gives the buyer and user more freedom when purchasing multiple licenses for an image.

Nicholas is always keen to hear from any new contributors and encourages photographers with a sharp eye and a creative mind to contact him and submit their images.

Speaking about his exciting new venture, Nicholas said; “GAZOU is growing into a vibrant stock and fine art gallery featuring some extremely impressive work from outdoor enthusiasts and photographers alike. Our growing number of contributors have access to some amazing outdoor locations and have the expertise to turn GAZOU into a one-stop shop for Scottish, world, travel, outdoor and social stock photography for the commercial picture-buying market. No-one understands how to capture the best and most unique Scottish imagery than the team at GAZOU who live, breathe and love Scotland.”

Creative professionals and buyers can search, license, and purchase imagery directly from www.gazou.co.uk

Notes to News Editors

  • GAZOU is a full member of the British Association of Picture Libraries and Agencies, BAPLA and is based at the Nicholas Frost Photography Studio, 8 Auchmill Road, Bucksburn, Aberdeen AB21 9LD
  • Nicholas Frost, along with wife Carol, have years of experience in the wedding and portrait industry in the north east of Scotland and are LMPA – Licentiates of the Master Photographer Association. They have won numerous awards and, in 2008 and 2009, reached the final eight in the photographer category in the prestigious VOWS Awards (Voted Outstanding Wedding Supplier) based on customer service.
  • GAZOU is Japanese for image, picture or portrait.
  • Stock photography is the supply of photographs licensed for specific uses. It is used to fulfil the needs of creative assignments instead of hiring a photographer. Stock images can be presented in searchable online databases and are purchased and delivered online. Images are filed at an agency that negotiates licensing fees on the photographer's behalf in exchange for a percentage, or in some cases owns the images outright.
  • Rights Managed Images are priced sold with a specific licence which dictates how the image may be used. It also determines the cost of the image.
  • A Bundled License is when an image is purchased for editorial, advertising or digital/multimedia usage and can then be used for any purpose for a specified time period in a specified territory. Prices reflect the additional usage although they are considerably less than purchasing the individual licences for every use.
  • In some instances, when a client demonstrates commitment to using GAZOU images, they will become a preferred client who will then be offered preferential rates on a yearly agreement.
