Ardanaiseig Launches Glorious Gardens Package

Ardanaiseig Hotel has launched a hassle-free mini-break for garden lovers. The private packages include overnight accommodation with dinner, bed and breakfast, and chauffeured daily tours of Argyll’s finest gardens. The perfect last-minute summer escape with minimum fuss.

Argyll’s renowned ‘Glorious Gardens’ comprise 20 breathtaking gardens dating from the 13th to 20th Century set amidst dramatic scenery on mainland Argyll, as well as the islands of Bute, Colonsay, Gigha, Jura, Mull and Seil.  Each garden offers something unique for its visitors, from some of the tallest trees in the UK to magnificent rhododendrons and stunning magnolias. And what better way to enjoy the gardens this summer than with a dedicated tour-guide transporting you in luxurious, air-conditioned comfort!

Packages are available until the end of October 2010 and can be customised to suit any given timeframe, group size and preferred itinerary.

Sample Itinerary (including some additional local gardens)

Day 1:
- Arrivals, optional tour of Ardanaiseig’s grounds, and gourmet evening meal

Day 2:  
- Scottish National Trust Garden at Crarae -  a wooded garden in a dramatic setting
- Lunch at the George Hotel in Inverary or Loch Fyne Oyster Bar
- A private tour of the formal gardens and state rooms at Inverary Castle
- Ardkinglas Wooded Gardens, boasting some of the UK’s tallest trees and finest rhododendrons
- Return to Ardanaiseig for a gourmet evening meal

Day 3: 
- Ardchattan Priory Gardens by Loch Etive, with formal borders and a ruined Chapel.
- Drimnavuic gardens by Loch Creran
- Lunch at Pier House for fine seafood and view to the island of Lismore
- Angus’ Garden in Glen Lonan, Taynuilt
- Return to Ardanaiseig for a gourmet evening meal

Day 4:
-Free time in Ardanaiseig’s woodland and hidden gardens before departure

The hotel as a year-round license to shoot roe deer and the Loch offers up a fine assortment of fish.  In the grounds, garlic, wild leek, hogweed, purple clover, wood sorrel, meadowsweet, land cress, nettles, elderflower, elder berries, raspberries, blackberries and rowan berries, to name but a few, are in plentiful supply.


Whilst for some, Ardanaiseig is the perfect place to unwind or find creative inspiration, for others it is the resting place after a day of outdoor adventure.  A number of activities can be arranged as part of a stay at Ardanaiseig – from horse riding, flying, sailing and climbing, to deer stalking, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and foraging.
