Festival-goers are in for a real treat this weekend as Cookie, the award-winning eatery in Pollokshields, is providing the outside catering for the Southside Festival.
With a stall in the Glasshouse serving chilled food and an al fresco stall offering a range of BBQ foods, Cookie will also be offering a range of cookery demonstrations, with an emphasis placed on children taking part and learning about food origins and food-related health issues.
Cookie co-owner, Domenico del Priore, said, “The Southside Festival is always a great family day out and we’re delighted to be adding to the occasion this year, not only by feeding hungry festival-goers, but also by providing a range of cookery demonstrations for all the family to enjoy!”
Cookie’s demonstration stall will feature: a selection of easy to make pasta dishes; home-made pizza with children rolling out the dough; a guess the vegetable quiz and a five-a-day made easy demonstration.
Its BBQ stall, meanwhile, will offer a range of butcher-made Cookie burgers, vegetable burgers and saffron and mussel rissoto while its Glasshouse stall will serve up a selection of delicious antipasti with fresh bread and Cookie olive oil.
Furthermore, a special Southside Festival Cookie Charity Raffle will offer several dining opportunties for lucky winners.
This is the third year of the Southside Festival, established to celebrate the cultural diversity and community spirit of this unique and special area of the city.
