Sun Prompts Record Numbers to Flock to Beer Garden at Houston Inn

The much longed-for arrival of the summer sun has seen record numbers of sunworshippers flock to quench their thirst and grab a bite at the beer garden at The Houston Inn this month..

Houston Inn manager Caroline Kinnaird said, “We’ve seen unprecedented numbers of customers grasping the opportunity to soak up the sun in our beer garden over the last few weeks. With seating for 50 customers, our beer garden has been operating at full capacity throughout the weekends of May and on bank holidays as demand for al fresco wining and dining has never been higher!”

As well as the sun, another attraction of the beer garden is The Houston Inn’s new bar menu, comprising a variety of sharing platters and nibbles such as potato skins, homemade nachos and BBQ pork ribs.

Proving particularly popular is its chicken wings platter, a sharing platter for two comprising mixed potato skins, nachos, mushrooms, BBQ wings, corn on the cob, onion rings and garlic bread served with salsa and sour cream.

Meanwhile, The Houston Inn’s 70 cover restaurant opens on to the beer garden and offers diners such delicacies as: Scottish salmon fillet; 8oz chargrilled fillet or sirloin steak; chicken Caesar salad; salmon niscoise salad and a range of delicious pasta and pizza dishes.

And the beer garden at The Houston Inn is gearing up for a long, hot summer in the sun. Amongst plans in place for the summer are the return of its popular live music festival and a September weekend beach party with revellers invited to join the fun by donning their favourite beachwear and loudest Hawaiian shirts and participate in various party games with music supplied by a DJ.

A traditional country inn in the village of Houston, a short drive from Glasgow city centre, the Houston Inn’s 70 cover restaurant offering flavoursome traditional fare using locally sourced ingredients is complemented by a 50 capacity beer garden. The Inn has a range of comfortable family, twin, double and single rooms, each offering a relaxed, out of town atmosphere. All rooms come with TV/satellite, hospitality trays and a business desk. The inn also provides free parking.
