Hamilton Park's Cash for Kid's Night Launched by Suzie McGuire and Courage the Cat

Hamilton Park’s 2010 Cash for Kids Night was today officially launched at the racecourse – with a helping hand from Radio Clyde DJ Suzie McGuire and the charity’s mascot Courage the Cat.

One of the most glamorous events of the summer, this year’s Cash for Kids Race Night – on the evening of Thursday, June 24 – receives some added glitz with a live performance by chart-topping UK girl group The Saturdays.

Supporting Radio Clyde Cash for Kids for the third year running, Hamilton Park is hosting the dedicated fixture in the children’s charity’s name and will be supported in its fundraising efforts by race night sponsor Irn Bru.

The highlight of the night is now confirmed in the shape of The Saturdays who will sing live after racing. Following their debut single in 2008, the five-girl group have racked up seven smash hit singles, a platinum-plus album, a nomination for Best New UK Act at the MTV Music Awards and recently finished supporting Take That on the highly acclaimed The Circus tour.

Tickets start at just £13 for an evening which includes a six-race card in addition to the live entertainment from Frankie, Una, Vanessa, Mollie and Rochelle who will dazzle the crowd with live performances of all their hits.

The racecourse is also holding a series of new fundraising initiatives throughout the season in an effort to increase funds raised for Radio Clyde Cash for Kids which enable the charity to deliver initiatives for underprivileged children in local communities. Among these are:

• A silent auction being held by Cash for Kids on June 24 with all proceeds going directly to the charity.

• A charity shopping ‘mall’ being set up on that same night with a contribution from all sales going to Radio Clyde Cash for Kids.

• The introduction of an on-site Cash for Kids donation box at Hamilton Park during all 18 meetings this season.

• A £1 Cash for Kids donation option being available to all race-goers when buying tickets from Hamilton Park’s website – www.hamilton-park.co.uk

Hamilton Park Chief Executive, Vivien Kyles, said: “Everyone at Hamilton Park is absolutely delighted to again be working with Cash for Kids, both through fundraising on the evening of the charity’s race night in June and throughout the season.

“We have enjoyed a tremendous relationship with the charity to date and everyone at the racecourse is looking forward to what will be a very busy and glamorous evening with racing, fundraising and the small matter of The Saturdays singing live. We are anticipating a bumper crowd and, most importantly, are hoping to raise significant funds for the most worthy of causes.”

Sharon Taylor, Charity Manager for Cash for Kids, said: “We’re thrilled to again be working in partnership with Hamilton Park which has been a staunch supporter of the charity in recent years, helping to raise thousands of pounds for Cash for Kids.

“The evening of racing and entertainment that has been put together for this year’s Cash for Kids Night at Hamilton Park on June 24 really is of the highest calibre and we hope to see as many people as possible help us enjoy a memorable evening and raise as much money as we can for underprivileged children across Lanarkshire and the west of Scotland.”

The Saturdays, Frankie, Mollie, Rochelle, Una and Vanessa, were recently confirmed to perform at Hamilton Park’s Cash for Kids Night on Thursday June 24, in association with leading concert producers Liz Hobbs Group Ltd.

The announcement came just after the Lanarkshire venue confirmed X Factor finalists Olly, Stacey and Danyl would perform at its Family Night on July 10, before it stages an unprecedented stand-alone concert with double Brit award winners JLS on July 23, while solo artist and TV personality Alesha Dixon will be singing live at Forces and Services Night on August 27.

Taking place on Thursday June 24, Hamilton Park’s Cash for Kids Night featuring The Saturdays, which includes a full racing card prior to the concert, is one of the track’s Super Seven fixtures for 2010.
