If India’s A-team have a particular spring in their step when they take to the field against Scotland tomorrow and Friday (23rd and 25th June) then that’s probably because they’ve been bowled over by the Ashoka at The Mill’s delicious desi dishes!

The popular family restaurant in Darnley is once again supplying all the catering to the India’s leading cricketers on their visit to Glasgow to play two one-day matches against Scotland at the Citylets Titwood ground.

Rajesh Saraf, who is organising the catering arrangements, said, “Overseeing the preparation of the desi dishes for India’s A-team are our two new chefs – Hamlal and Akeel – specially recruited for their expertise and range of culinary skills.

“We know that India’s A-team will be bowled over by our desi dishes and healthy food options but wish both teams well in the game!”

The game is likely to attract a great deal of interest as it will see Gordon Drummond take over as full-time captain of Scotland for the first time following the resignation of Gavin Hamilton after the game against England on Saturday, when Scotland were beaten by seven wickets.

Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, the Saurashtra batsman, will captain India’s A-team, whose squad of 16 players were all contracted players in the Indian Premier League.
