Scottish pop singer Alex Gardner has been confirmed as support for the seemingly unstoppable JLS at Hamilton Park’s debut standalone live music concert on July 23 – which is now set for a sell-out with only a handful of tickets remaining.
British boyband sensations JLS, who secured their third UK number one single when “The Club Is Alive” topped the charts on Sunday, already have Gardner signed up to perform as their official support at a number of their summer concerts. Now those attending the one-off Hamilton Park gig a week on Friday can see what all the fuss is about when Gardner warms up the stage for JLS in front of what is set to be a capacity crowd.
Described as Scotland’s next big thing, 18-year-old Gardner – whose performance supporting The Saturdays at Hamilton Park’s recent Cash for Kids Night went down a storm – has also provided support to Paulo Nutini, shared a stage with Mika and wowed audiences at T in The Park.
Only a small number of general admission tickets (£25) remain unsold for the Friday evening concert along with limited hospitality places as JLS prepare to perform in front of an even larger crowd than the 10,000 who saw them at Hamilton Park’s Family Night in July 2009. All those who buy tickets in advance are automatically entered into a draw to meet all four members of JLS before they take to the stage.
There will also be a dedicated return bus service from Buchanan Street station in Glasgow to the concert at Hamilton Park bookable with Happy Bus (www.happybus.co.uk).
Hamilton Park Chief Executive, Vivien Kyles, said: “Our first ever standalone concert is shaping up to be one of the best and must-see music events in Scotland this summer and the addition of Alex to support JLS will only add to the big night on July 23. We enjoyed a short look at Alex when he was one of two support acts for The Saturdays but this time round fans will get a real taste of his individual style as he’ll perform an extended set.
“It’s fantastic to see JLS enjoying another number one single and it seems they are only going to continue to achieve great things in their careers. With only a few tickets remaining for our concert I’d urge any fans to snap them up quickly as Hamilton Park is the only place in Scotland you’ll be able to see JLS perform their full arena tour performance this summer.”
