Ashoka at The Mill Offers Family Extravaganza for East Renfrewshire Food Festival

Ashoka at The Mill, the popular family restaurant in Darnley, is hosting an extra-special family extravaganza incorporating a range of fun activities for all the family for this September’s East Renfrewshire Food Festival.

The centrepiece of the Mill’s festivities will be al fresco market stalls offering snacks from the Indian subcontinent’s main regions – Lahore, Rajastani, Punjabi, Nepalese and South India – but there will be a host of other activities for all the family to enjoy, including: a bouncy castle and a marquee offering everything from Indian face-painting, bindis and henna tattoos.

The Mill’s new manager, Asha Bains, said, “The Mill has always been a hot favourite for family dining – not least because the adjacent Poppa Dom Playzone is a magnet for kids and affords parents a rare chance for peace to enjoy their meal – but we’re really pulling out the stops to make it a real family affair for the East Renfrewshire Food Festival.

“Our brigade of chefs come from all over India and are experts in preparing traditional Lahore, Rajastani, Punjabi, Nepalese and South Indian dishes, and for the duration of the festival they will be donning their traditional costumes to lend a special festival atmosphere to the occasion.”

Ashoka at The Mill has just undergone an extensive makeover, lending it a warm and inviting atmosphere while complementing its ever-popular buffet and pre-theatre menu with an appetising new Indian and European a la carte menu.

The Mill offers a variety of eating options, from the renowned Ashoka buffet to home-style and desi dishes and from a la carte to takeaways and deliveries. Just last month it opened an extensive hidden beer terrace overlooking the fast flowing Brock Burn, adding an al fresco dining dimension to its many attractions.

East Renfrewshire Food Festival starts on Saturday 11 September 2010 and runs till Saturday 18 September 2010 offering a week full of foodie events and entertainment.
