Cookie, the award-winning eatery in Glasgow’s southside, is running a ‘Kiss Me Cake’ open day this Sunday, 19 September to help launch a new cheesecake line by offering customers freshly baked love-bite samples of his produce.
The enterprising eatery has lent entrepreneur Chris Pech the use of its ovens and kitchen out of hours to batch his production of cheesecakes. And now Cookie has announced an open doors policy to play host to aspiring catering entrepreneurs to help them get their business ideas off the drawing board and into the kitchen.
Cookie co-owner, Domenico Del Priore, said, “We are offering our kitchen as an incubator unit for bakers to develop their start-up enterprises.
“In the case of Chris, this means that he has access to a kitchen and bakery with all the equipment he needs and all the health and safety aspects required for food production already covered. In return, Cookie gets delicious fresh cheesecake which is already proving popular with our customers!”
Cookie’s ‘Kiss Me Cake’ open day takes place from 4.00pm on Sunday, 19 September.
Recently named Glasgow Newcomer of the Year 2010 for breaking the mould of local eating and drinking, Cookie seeks to break down the barriers between food production, distribution, preparation and consumption.
Cookie is based at 72 Nithsdale Road, Pollokshields, Glasgow. For further information about Cookie log on to www.cookiescotland.com
