Amnesty International to Launch New Report on China, Olympics and Human Rights

Amnesty International launches its latest ‘Olympics Countdown’ report , the last in a series of reports examining China’s human rights performance in the run-up to the Olympic Games.

The report will contain a special appendix about the recent protests in Tibet. It will also examine key issues such as free speech, fair trials and the death penalty, and highlight individual cases of people who have been targeted for standing up for human rights.

Embargoed copies of the report will be available on request and spokespeople will be available for interview.
