Almost 30 representatives from the UK decommissioning steering group will meet at the Shetland Museum and Archives in Lerwick tomorrow (Tuesday, December 2).
Hosted by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), the meeting will advise and guide on areas inhibiting the UK decommissioning supply chain development and help shape its proposed development plan.
This is the first time the group has met in Shetland and their visit will comprise dinner tonight (Monday December 1) at Busta House followed by a tour tomorrow of the decommissioning site at Lerwick Harbour in Shetland ahead of their meeting.
The steering group includes some of the North Sea industry’s principal companies and tomorrow’s meeting will explore how government intervention funding can overcome barriers. It was formed by Scottish Enterprise in partnership with HIE and the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR).
