Fife’s 800 tourism businesses are being invited to join a new Tourism Business Network. The network will support tourism businesses in Fife by providing business resources, events and other activities that will help businesses in the current economic climate. Tourism is a key industry sector in Fife, supporting over 12,000 jobs and contributing over £250m to the local economy each year.
www.tourismnetfife.com is the first in a series of initiatives as part of the Fife tourism Partnership. The new website enables business networking and provides information and opportunities for the sector. Industry news, a programme of business development and networking events, training courses, newsletters, business surveys and all the latest news on what is happening across Fife and at the Fife Tourism Partnership level are available on-line.
Commenting on the launch of the new website, Fife Tourism Partnership Chair, Debbie Taylor, General Manager of The Old Course Hotel Golf Resort and Spa, said: “This is an exciting development for Fife, the Partnership is working towards delivering a truly exceptional visitor experience across the whole Fife product. Working together, developing the sector and sharing best practice will help us to achieve this.”
Councillor Tony Martin, Strategic Chair, Environment, Enterprise & Transportation Committee, Fife Council said: “We would encourage all Fife’s tourism providers to get involved with the network. Tourism is a significant industry sector for Fife and it is important that we work together to create an exceptional visitor experience within Fife.
VisitScotland Regional Director, Richard Pinn, also commented: “As a member of the Fife Tourism Partnership, VisitScotland is excited about this new development in Fife. Tourism businesses of all kinds need to work together now more than ever before and this web platform provides an easy route to information for businesses and that has to be good.”
