Self-directed Support Giving Individuals Choices

Community Careline Services has been proudly providing Care In The Community since 1995. We are a small family run business that genuinely cares for all our Service Users, young and old. We have recently been attending meetings with Glasgow City Council to learn about the latest positive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to access Self Directed Support which in my opinion as Director of a Care Provider Company is wonderful for people who want choices such as who provides their care as well as when and how they would recieve care to meet their needs.

Prior to Self Directed Support individuals would be provided with a service at times that did not always meet nor suit their needs depending on funding availabilities within Local Authorities.

The wording within the Self Directed Support forms is written in a way that helps individuals to clearly explain what their needs are and how and when they would require their chosen care needs to be carried out.

We have a team within our organisation who is willing and able to provide advice and support to people who think that Self Directed Support would be beneficial to them or someone they know. This advice is free and confidential and we can meet individuals within their own homes or at our office at 7 Nithsdale Road, Strathbungo, Glasgow, G41 2AL. If calling to arrange for a meeting ask for June Graham, Sally Millar or Janet Cumine on 0141 423 4689.

This is a definite way forward for all concerned and a well planned and implemented method of helping people with disabilities to have more choice and control by the Scottish Government at a time of insecurities and worries for us all.
