Forth Valley College has launched a mobile version of their award winning website.
The site was designed and developed in partnership with digital agency tictoc, with mobile friendly templates allowing users to experience the college’s website on a range of popular smartphones including Android, iPhone and BlackBerry.
This new media development for the college follows the exciting launch of the College’s digital app.
Both platforms allow access to all the latest college information, announcements, news and events. Users can also find useful resources such as the course search facility and Moodle, the College’s Virtual Learning Environment.
Lyndsay Condie, Communications and Marketing Manager for FVC said:
“New mobile technology and the age of social media have resulted in an increased demand for information which can be easily accessed on the go. Our digital strategy has therefore focused on offering new platforms which allow users to receive information quickly and in a way which suits them. Our mobile site is a great example of this. It offers all the benefits of the main college website but can easily be accessed from your phone any time, any place.
“We’re also delighted to be one of the first colleges in Scotland to launch a mobile website – it shows once again our commitment to delivering new developments which have a positive impact on the overall learner experience. Our website and digital app have already been a big hit with learners – in fact we were over the moon to win the Student Choice award for our website at Scotland’s Colleges Marketing Awards in February – and we’re confident the mobile website will also be well received.”
Melanie Russell, Director at TicToc said: “Our research shows that young people are extremely attached to their phones! They now expect to be able to view College information etc via their mobiles and through working closely with Forth Valley College, the mobile templates we've developed enables them to do just that. Colleges need to use whatever technologies their target markets are using in order to communicate, not just with students but with staff and the wider business community and hopefully, through the mobile site, Forth Valley can do just that.”
