THE Italian Bistro in Glasgow’s West End has introduced a new cocktail list to complement its recently refurbished private cocktail bar.
Featuring favourites familiar to most cocktail aficionados – including Bellini; Kir Royale; Cosmopolitan; gin or vodka Martini; Mojito; French Martini and Long Island Ice Tea – the new list also includes the less familiar Old Fashioned, believed to be the first ever cocktail.
Italian Bistro proprietor, Nas Aksi, said: “Many believe Old Fashioned to be the earliest defining cocktail. A favourite of Colonel James E Pepper in the 1880s, it comprises bourbon, sugar, water and a hint of orange, and already it’s proving popular with our customers.
“Having noticed an upturn in demand for cocktails over recent months, we decided to refresh our list and are delighted with the positive response from our customers.”
Complementing The Italian Bistro’s cocktail list is a range of snacks, including bruschetta, soup of the day, tempura king prawns, focaccia, antipasti and mozzarella and tomato salad.
Located in a distinctive and stylish historic building on Glasgow’s Great Western Road, The Italian Bistro provides a stylish and contemporary dining atmosphere. All its cocktails are priced at £6.50.
Located directly above The Italian Bistro, the Partners Suite comprises a private cocktail bar, a large sun terrace and a 120-cover function suite with natural light and a modern and contemporary feel, providing the perfect venue for a range of corporate and social occasions, including weddings, funerals, birthdays, conferences and seminars.
