HARPER Macleod LLP, one of Scotland’s largest law firms, is the latest to sign up to the Micro-Tyco challenge.
Supporting the amazing work undertaken by the WildHearts charity, Micro-Tyco runs throughout November and encourages companies and individuals to grab the entrepreneurial challenge with both hands.
On 1 November, WildHearts will provide every team taking part in the competition with £1 seed capital and challenge them to grow that money into as much as possible.
All funds raised will support WildHearts activities around the world, that invest in micro-finance projects and in doing so, help the world’s poorest people work their own way out of poverty.
Last year, the winning team raised an amazing £19,000 and Paula Skinner, Partner at Harper Macleod admits it would be great to beat that amount:
“The aim of our involvement in Micro-Tyco is to build on the entrepreneurial ethos and spirit we have within Harper Macleod, but to be honest we wouldn’t mind trumping last year’s total.
“We are big supporters of people taking those first steps into starting their own businesses and guiding them to success.
“The efforts of the Wildhearts charity are so important and make a genuine difference to people’s lives and we are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile and important cause.”
WildHearts founder, Mick Jackson, added:
“I believe passionately that our country can lead the world in the evolution of entrepreneurial thinking. Micro-Tyco unites everyone in our community, from our children to our corporate executives with that vision; that business can and must be a force for good.
“By associating business success with compassion we will inspire the leaders our world deserves. It’s fantastic to see Harper Macleod embracing that vision. Given the spirit and ethos of the firm I have no doubt they will give the other teams a real run for their money.”

As a result one WildHearts Micro-Loan transforms 21 lives every year and will continue to do so into perpetuity. Incredibly over a five year period one £150 loan will sustainably transform 105 lives.
