LEADING food brand, Scotty Brand, has appointed Edinburgh-based Jigsaw PR and Taste Communications to direct its PR and communications, on a retained basis.
The two agencies, headed up by Audrey Cassels and Stephen Jardine, won the account following a competitive three-way pitch.
The collaboration will see them develop a joint consumer and trade PR campaign for Scotty Brand and its family of producers.
Scotty Brand – a subsidiary of leading independent food producer, Albert Bartlett Ltd – was established in 2010 with managing director, Paul McLaughlin, and marketing manager, Michael Jarvis, joining the company in 2011.
An umbrella brand for premium seasonal Scottish produce, Scotty Brand’s portfolio includes potatoes, carrots, lettuce, prepared vegetables and seasonal berries.
Last year, Scotty Brand’s profile was elevated through a high profile partnership with Disney/Pixar on the award-winning Brave movie.
The brand will continue to be supported heavily throughout 2013 with an above- and below-the-line campaign that will further build the Scotty brand, raise awareness of the product portfolio and reinvigorate demand for quality, fresh produce with a focus on transparency from farm to fork and support the launch of a variety of brand extensions.
Michael Jarvis, marketing manager for Scotty Brand, commented: “Scotty Brand has enjoyed phenomenal growth in the last 12 months and the association with Disney/Pixar’s Brave built great brand momentum last year.
“I look forward to working with Jigsaw PR and Taste Communications to maintain and develop this in the future.”
Audrey Cassels, who moved from 3×1 Public Relations to form her own agency last year, already partners with Taste Communications, directing the Ian Macleod Distillers account.
