A LEADING Scottish employment law, HR and health & safety firm has launched a new office in the Central Belt to accommodate the continued growth of the business.
Empire, which is headquartered in Aberdeen, has opened an office in the centre of Glasgow and hired a team of HR and legal specialists to manage client work in the area.
The Queen Street facility is an ideal base for the firm as the business grows in the Central Belt. There are currently six employees based in Glasgow including HR advisors, a sales team and the firm’s tribunal barrister and there are plans to increase the team by the end of the year.
Empire, which has over 600 clients across Scotland and the UK, will be looking to recruit sales professionals to cover the Inverness and Dundee regions, with an aim to provide Scottish wide coverage, whilst maintaining a strong focus on client relations through high quality customer service.
The launch of the Glasgow office will further strengthen the organisations presence throughout Scotland, securing the company’s market position as one of the largest independent Scottish HR providers in the UK. In addition to the expansion, Empire, which currently has 38 members of staff, plans to increase staff numbers by up to 20 per cent by the end of this year.
Managing director of Empire, Steve Cook said: “We have been consciously trying to grow the business to become one of the leading Scottish providers of specialist HR and employment law, and opening a base in Glasgow places us in a strong market position for continued growth. As we already have a number of clients in the area, it was essential that we secured premises to ensure we can have face-to-face interaction rather than just telephone conversations, which meets our customer service strategy. Although we have recently witnessed some legal firms in the Glasgow area getting into difficulties, we see this as a benefit as we can utilise the skilled workforce in the area, who have great knowledge of the market.”
Empire offers a wide range of employment support services including employment law, payroll, training, health and safety and employment tribunals. The firm has a diverse range of clients across the UK, with employee numbers ranging from three to 13,000 and provide a commercially focused employment law and HR support service, including a 24-hour telephone advice line, HR consultancy, tribunal and health and safety support.
