A FORWARD-thinking housing and social care provider has launched a novel way of interacting with people who use or are interested in their services.
Bield have commissioned video profiles of key staff talking about their role and their favourite part of working for Bield, as well as an initial portfolio of videos to showcase some of its services aroundScotland.
Brian Logan, chief executive at Bield, said the gallery of videos on YouTube will allow them to speak more directly to people about the services and care they provide across each of their 170 locations acrossScotland.
He said: “The videos are a fantastic way for us to interact with anyone that either uses our services or wants to know more about Bield.
“But specifically, they provide an engaging and accessible means to both see and hear exactly from key staff who run Bield, allowing us to convey our Free to Be mission to improve the quality of life for older people by offering a diverse range of housing, care and other services.
“Our Free to Be approach remains at the core of everything we do. People can learn more about this through these videos and see what crucial roles our executive team play to make this a reality.
“We always work closely with tenants and service users to make sure we are delivering services that are tailored to them, giving them exactly what they want. This new way of interaction is another key tool to keep everyone informed and up-to-date on what we are doing to achieve this.”
The videos on Bield’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/BieldHA) feature Brian Logan; Chair of the Board of Management Gerry O’Sullivan; Director of Asset Management Stuart Dow; Director of Care Services Charlie Dickson; Director of Housing Services Amanda Miller; Fundraiser Kevin Rowe and David MacInness Owner Services Manager.
In the video each staff member discusses the role they play at Bield and what their favourite part of working for the company is. The videos also reveal a quirky interesting fact about each of the staff such as Brian Logan who used to work while a student taking appointments for driving tests during his summer holidays – a job he loathed.
The first series of 10 videos on the YouTube channel also includes films of three of Bield’s care homes and services.
Bield now plan to enhance its online engagement by looking to record further videos featuring information on the care and services provided by them in the near future.
Bield has 170 locations acrossScotlandwhich is dedicated to providing quality housing, care and support services for older people.
They are a registered charity which has grown from humble beginnings, starting out with one housing development in Bo’ness in 1971, to becoming a major provider of a wide range of housing and services for around 20,000 older people across 22 local authority areas.
