FOUR hilarious after-dinner speakers will compete for the votes of over 200 glamorous guests attending Epilepsy Scotland’s Wags gala evening at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel on Thursday 25 April.
Previous witty winners – Hugh Brown, Hugh Drennan, Isobel Rutter and Bert Thomson – want to be the champion Wag even more than winning one of the top draw prizes of two mini iPads donated by Glasgow firm Clicknetworks. Guest speaker and ex Rangers player Willie Henderson is a warm up act.
Four other Epilepsy Scotland winners will be there celebrating their success.
Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, Alex Neil MSP, will present two awards to the small and larger organisations chosen as Employer of the Year. Two journalists will collect their trophy from Scottish NUJ Secretary, Paul Holleran, for coming first in the charity’s Press and broadcasting media award.
Epilepsy Scotland, chief executive, Lesslie Young remarked: “Our Glasgow Wags event is a must in the city’s social calendar because of its feel good factor, and it’s great to honour those people working so hard for our cause. Tickets and full details are available through our fundraising team’s website.”
