LEADING public relations firm, Granite PR, has announced that it has opened a new office in Houston and that business worth £50,000 has been secured in the U.S. since the beginning of 2013.
Founded in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2008 Granite PR is headed by entrepreneur Brett Jackson and focuses on public relations, business events and networking primarily in the fields of oil and gas, property and professional services.
The company signed its first U.S. client in late 2011 and has since flourished on both sides of the Atlantic, boosted by the recent Aberdeen-Houston Gateway event which saw a transatlantic audience of more than 240 delegates take part in a business conference linked using the latest technology.
To build on the success of the Gateway event, Granite PR has revealed plans which will further cement relationships using cutting edge technology thanks to the launch of an app during OTC in Houston. This is to be updated in time for the Offshore Europe event in Aberdeen later this year and will showcase companies from the UK and U.S. who are keen to forge or foster links with contemporaries and clients on the other side of the Atlantic.
Commenting on Granite PR’s continuing success, Brett Jackson said: “The opening of our office in Houston marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and we are excited about the opportunities in the Americas which this base will open up to us.
“In addition, we have recently signed our first clients in Norway and we look forward to growing our presence in that part of the world too.”
He added: “The Aberdeen-Houston Gateway was a tremendous success in both energy hubs and we are keen to continue the connectivity that it facilitated so, as well as planning a repeat of the event in 2014, we are delighted to offer this app which we believe to be the first of its kind connecting the sister cities of Aberdeen and Houston.”
