An Edinburgh-based photo agency has taken on a video journalist and a PR manager, as it seeks to grow its business.
Maverick – comprising Callum Bennetts, Michael Hughes and Richard Scott in October last year – has taken on the services of Karrie Gillett to implement their video and online offering. Elaine McLaren is also working with the company developing its marketing and PR strategy.
This year alone, the agencxy has had over 30 front pages and over 200 images published, both print and online, for more than 36 clients across regional, national and international media outlets.
Gillett's video career began at the Press Association in Yorkshire, before she moved to Scotland to write, freelance, for amongst others, The Scotsman, Daily Express, Daily Record, The Scottish Sun, The Times and Metro.
McLaren has recently launched a freelance PR and marketing consultation career after more than two years with DADA as an account director. During her time with the agency she worked with brands including Domino’s Pizza, Whyte & Mackay and Ortak Jewellery.
She previously worked at KDMedia looking after VisitScotland.com and The Scottish Legal Awards and spent five years prior to that with the BIG partnership, handling Scottish Rugby, Forbo Flooring and the Scottish Executive’s Healthy Living Campaign.
