Herald Talks Still On-Going

Talks are still on-going in a dispute between the National Union of Journalists and the Herald group of newspapers, over management plans to switch the date staff are paid, despite hopes that yesterday would see a resolution.
Both sides are said to be working on the final wording of any agreement, which is expected to include clearer guidelines on how both parties should behave in the event of a future dispute.
The reason for the current dispute are plans to change the date when staff are paid, the union saying it would financially penalise some of its members.
The prospect of amicable talks led to the postponement of planned strike action last Friday.
