The Press and Journal has slightly re-structured the way it organises its campaign to raise money for charity from readers – so that smaller charities can now benefit.
In the past, the paper would identify one charity that readers could support. This year, however, half the money raised will be shared equally between five well-known charities and the remaining 50 per cent will be distributed between smaller charities and good causes.
The hope is that at least half a million pounds is raised, thus continuing a well-established trend at the Aberdeen-based paper.
