BBC Radio Scotland’s flagship new programme, Good Morning Scotland, has enjoyed a 32 per cent hike in the number of people tuning in each week, according to the Corporation’s own analysis of the latest radio listenership figures.
Says BBC Scotland, the programme’s weekly reach (measured by the number of people who tune in for at least five minutes per week) has increased from 375,000 between October and December 2007 to 496,000 for the same three months last year.
The economic and banking crisis, allied to coverage of the US presidential election, will have had some bearing on the increased audience.
