Sunday Mail hails its readership and sales leads over rivals

THE Sunday Mail newspaper devoted its entire page two at the weekend to hailing its success in two recent audits, of its sales and readership performances in the Sunday newspapers market.

The paper’s sales performance was highlighted in a bar graph featuring its lead over nearest challengers, The Scottish Sun on Sunday and The Sunday Post.

Says the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the Sunday Mail sold – during July – an average 282,073 copies, as against The Scottish Sun on Sunday’s 216,093 and The Sunday Post’s 185,884.

Similarly, a bar graph was used to highlight its lead in terms of readership.

Says the National Readership Survey, the Sunday Mail’s 984,000 estimated readership (July 2011-to-July 2012) compares very favourably with The Sunday Post’s 595,000 and The Scottish Sun on Sunday’s 592,000.

The page is bordered by several images of Sunday Mail front pages, plus images of supplements covers.
