Morrice and Senior the top Scots in marketing ‘Power 100′

THE managing director of a Manchester-based marketing agency has been named the top Scot in a listing of the most influential people in the marketing services industry outside the M25.

Rob Morrice appears at No.5 of the 100 strong list, which began with 500 marketers being nominated in May via an online poll. He is MD at IAS b2b Marketing, which also has offices in London and Paris.

After 100 were chosen, by an editorial panel, where they then appeared in the Power 100 – run by the media and marketing magazine, The Drum – was determined, again, by an online poll.

At No.18 is Nora Senior, executive chair  (regions and Ireland) of PR, public affairs, digital and design agency, Weber Shandwick.

During the 1990s, Morrice (pictured) shot to prominence when he set up and then later sold his Edinburgh-based integrated PR and advertising company, SMARTS.

He told allmediascotland.com: “If I have known the Drum Power 100 was open to public vote, I would have hired the [Edinburgh-based communications agency, the] Leith Agency to handle my campaign to make sure I got to No.1.”

In a Weber Shandwick media release, Senior is quoted, as saying: “I’m really proud to be flying the flag for our team and am thrilled to be featured within the top 20.

“There are some hugely influential names on that list which reflects the current high calibre of communications expertise based outside London. These people have the knowledge and influence to deliver leading campaigns and results for clients.

“Weber Shandwick is a fantastic organisation with the depth of services and resources to work on international and national accounts from our regional bases.”
