A BBC Scotland television documentary about the forced repatriation of asylum seekers from Scotland has won at an annual festival celebrating the best of Celtic film and broadcasting.
The third day of the 29th Celtic Media Awards – which took place last week in Galway, Ireland – saw Tales from the Edge – The Children who Disappear, take the Current Affairs prize. It was produced by Lindsay Hill.
Also among the winners was BBC Radio nan Gaidheal’s Derek Murray, who was chosen as Radio Presenter of the Year.
By the festival’s end, on Friday evening, some 18 awards were handed out, including another two headed for Scotland, and secured on the second day of the three-day event: Scottish director, Kevin Macdonald’s The Last King of Scotland took the Feature Length Drama title, while River Child secured the award for Best Short Drama.
