Television has regained some of its former popularity, returning to viewing figure levels not witnessed these last five years.
According to a report from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertisting, average daily viewing figures for the final three months of last year were at their highest level since the last quarter of 2004, standing at 3.88 hours per individual.
What has changed these last five years, though, is the increasing number of hours devoted to non-terrestrial channels: they are now close to achieving a 40 per cent share of viewing.
Digital reception continues to grow and now stands at 86 per cent of all homes.
