Edinburgh shoppers will have the opportunity to donate to the new pyjamas campaign for the new Sick Kids hospital when Edinburgh’s Jubilo Choir sings carols at the Gyle shopping centre on 15 December from 7pm to 8pm.
This is just one of three fundraising events that Jubilo has established to raise funds for the new pyjamas campaign. The proceeds of a collection from Jubilo’s annual Christmas Carol Concert at Greyfriars Church on 19 December will also be donated to the campaign
Jubilo is a mixed voice Choral Society based in Edinburgh, which regularly performs a wide range of accompanied and unaccompanied music. The choir has about 70 active singing members.
Sally McMath, Chair of Jubilo, says: ‘We are delighted to be lending our support to the new pyjamas campaign over the next six months.’
Next year, Jubilo will hold a concert at St Cuthbert’s Church on 29 May, with all proceeds going to the new pyjamas campaign.
Elaine McGonigle, director of the new pyjamas campaign, says: ‘Jubilo presents an impressive range of choral music to the public and we are delighted that they are helping us to introduce the new pyjamas campaign to their audiences.
Jubilo has been generous and innovative in their approach to fundraising on behalf of the campaign and we very much appreciate their dedication to our cause.’
Funds raised by the new pyjamas campaign will pay for medical equipment, facilities for patients and their families, research and training at the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.
