Fast growing corporate couture specialist NKD Clothing has landed a major new contract with a renowned financial institution.
The Edinburgh-based bespoke uniform supplier has been commissioned by Saffron building society to design a range outfits for staff members.
Delighted NKD Clothing managing direct Gill Eastgate says the contract win is the company’s first in the financial sector, opening up a new market for the ambitious corporate couture firm.
Saffron’s 65 strong team, based in12 branches across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and London, will get a stylish new look designed and supplied by Gill’s expert team.
She said: “Everybody in the team is thrilled to bits. Getting a foothold in new sectors is essential to the continued growth and health of our own business.
“They don’t come much bigger than the financial sector and this is a golden opportunity for us to make a real impression in the same way we did in the hotel and hospitality industry.”
NKD Clothing is the UK’s leading designers and providers of bespoke uniforms and corporate clothing. It is particularly strong in the hospitality sector and has outfitted staff in leading hotel chains including Malmaison, Hotel du Vin and Dakota.
Gill believes the banking crisis and recession has given financial institutions a new focus on returning to the fundamentals of customer service – where bank and building society staff will have a crucial in winning back public confidence.
She added: “It is absolutely beyond any doubt that when staff look better they not only feel better about themselves, but about their employer. That translates into improved performance and in turn delivers happy customers.
“The big players in the financial sector have always had a keen eye for making sure their staff have uniforms which say the right thing about their brands. That has never been more important and I hope that will bring us more opportunities like this.
NKD Clothing’s own reputation is built on a commitment to use only the highest quality fabrics and by working with clients to design uniforms which staff actually like to wear.
Gill added: “We have absolute faith in our people and our products. When we get in front of potential clients they are won over by what we offer because we are passionate and committed to quality, both of which shine through.
“Meeting the team at Saffron was fun and they were impressed by the designs and concepts we presented. It was clear they had never had a uniform meeting like it before.
“After much discussion we opted for chic, single breasted black suit jackets with a multi-stripe and the choice of either a skirt or trousers to match. There is also the choice of knitwear for staff members who prefer not to wear a jacket and a choice of plain and striped lilac and white shirts.”
The client win comes hot on the heels of other sizeable business successes with Flyglobespan and Fraser Suites.
Gill said: “This illustrates NKD Clothing’s ability to adapt. Working with a renowned name like Saffron is a real endorsement for what we do and we hope it will develop further.”
Senior People Resources Officer at Saffron, Tracy Gumus, added: “When Saffron began looking for a new uniform supplier we wanted a company that provided a dedicated and personal service.
“We interviewed a number of corporate clothing companies but NKD Clothing stood out in terms of the passion and enthusiasm they demonstrated. Director Gill Eastgate was so enthusiastic about her product it was difficult for us not to be impressed.
“To date NKD Clothing has exceeded all of our expectations. From the beginning we were provided countless samples, design boards and photographs. They have also been extremely proactive in sending us progress reports and in making helpful suggestions and recommendations.
“In comparison to other suppliers we have worked with in the past this has been the most efficient uniform roll out we have experienced.”
