AVC Media Enterprises, the Aberdeen based media and communications agency, is set to expand into a new international marketplace with the creation of a new post in the Middle East.
Penny George has taken up the position of International Account Manager in Abu Dhabi, increasing AVC’s geographical reach into a key oil and gas area.
AVC’s decision to conduct further research and development within the Middle East was taken after a successful trip to Adipec, one of the largest oil and gas shows in the world, in 2008.
Spencer Buchan, AVC Director, said, “After attending Adipec, it was clear that AVC’s experience and expertise within the oil and gas industry could be transferred into the Middle East, where the economy continues to emerge from the global recession to be at the forefront of growth and development. AVC’s clients will also benefit from this move, with many now seeking to promote themselves in this area. AVC’s increased industry knowledge and awareness of key marketing and PR platforms in this region can only benefit their long term business strategies.”
Penny has worked for AVC in Aberdeen since November 2008 and will continue to work on key UK client accounts from her new location along with developing new business opportunities for AVC to expand into this market place. Having previously worked in India and Australia, Penny already possesses vast experience of international markets and will look to research and develop opportunities in Abu Dhabi.
Penny George, International Account Manager for AVC, said, “I am excited about this new opportunity, both in terms of developing new business for AVC within this region as well as supporting our current oil and gas client portfolio in targeting this key market . For marketers within the energy sector in Aberdeen and the rest of the UK, Abu Dhabi is a great place to focus their efforts as it is riding the recession out faster than the rest of the world. With AVC’s skills and expertise in integrated communications, it is well positioned to supply communications services to a marketplace, which is posed to grow at more than 7.5% annually.”
This new move to international frontiers is part of AVC’s continued development and growth strategy in PR and Marketing services and follows the recent appointment of STV’s former news anchor Kirstin Gove, strengthening their offering to support the wide range of client accounts.
