Leading integrated communications agency, AVC Creative has today announced the promotion of communications duo Spencer Buchan and Simone Barnett to MD and Director level positions.
AVC Media Enterprises Director, Mr Buchan, becomes Managing Director of AVC Creative, whilst retaining his Director’s role in AVC. Existing Head of Communication and Development at AVC, Mrs Barnett joins AVC Creative’s Board of Directors in the role of PR and Marketing Director, whilst continuing her role driving the development and marketing of the Aberdeen-based AVC Group.
Keith Main, Chairman of AVC Media Enterprises, comments:
“I would like to congratulate both Spencer and Simone on their recent promotions. This is testament to the ongoing hard work and determination shown by both. AVC Creative is in a strong position as we move forward in 2010 and both have already played an important role in getting us where we are today. Their promotions are pivotal to our plans for the future of the business and critical to our continued success, adding value to our customers’ business, whilst also developing the careers of our talented employees.”
AVC Creative was formed in April 2009 following acquisitions of Brand Advertising, The PR Partnership and full service agency Hotchilli Design Ltd. The three businesses are now fully incorporated into AVC’s digital, media, PR, advertising and graphic design teams forming AVC Creative Ltd, which offers integrated communications solutions to clients from a range of industry sectors.
Within 10 months the business has achieved a turnover exceeding £3 million, with a healthy profit margin and a client portfolio of over 130 clients, across both public and private sector markets.
The promotions of Mr Buchan and Mrs Barnett come after recent developments for the company. At the start of January, former STV North news anchor Kirstin Gove joined the team as PR Manager, strengthening AVC’s client offering in this area as well as continuing her previous role with AVC – providing tailored Media Response Training from the AVC Business Centre. AVC has also just announced the expansion of AVC into the Middle East, with the creation of a new PR and Marketing post in Abu Dhabi.
Mr Buchan comments:
“AVC Creative’s success has meant maintained turnover and profitability growth, enabling us to recently extend the team to 21. Our ambition and dedication to providing our clients with the very best communication solutions is what drives us on, demonstrated via recent appointments and our new PR and Marketing post in Abu Dhabi, which will allow us to offer clients an increased geographical reach into a key energy region.
“Already we provide fully integrated communications solutions for many clients encompassing advertising, public relations, graphic design, web and digital communications. We are finding our clients have come to expect this from an agency of our size and they can see the real cost and efficiency benefits obtained from using just one agency where nothing is outsourced. We have a highly skilled team and AVC Creative is well placed to grow, not just in Scotland but globally in the coming years.”
