The Men’s Health Forum Scotland (MHFS) is calling upon all men across Scotland to team up with their colleagues to enter this year’s MHFS 10K for Men, which will take place on 20 June in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park.
The MHFS 10K for Men workplace challenge aims to encourage colleagues from all professions and sectors to enter a team to this year’s event to help combat stress, inactivity and promote wellbeing in the workplace, whilst improving their own health
Now in its fifth year, organisers of the MHFS 10K for Men, which is the only 10k specifically for men in the UK, hope to attract over 5,000 men of all abilities, whether they decide to walk run, jog or run past the finishing line.
Mark Ward, the national coordinator for the Men’s Health Forum Scotland said: “Exercise is vital to help improve your performance in the workplace. People today are living increasingly busier lives than ever before and work is a major focus for so many. It is vitally important that the right balance is struck. The current economic climate has also increased pressure to perform in our jobs. However, we can’t neglect our health and fitness either.
“The MHFS is urging men to realise running and exercise can help performance in the workplace. It reduces stress and improves overall levels of fitness. We want to encourage workplaces throughout Scotland to support employees to sign up to this year’s event, which will help to boost morale and bring colleagues closer together.”
