A leading North east butcher is gearing up to open his first shop in Aberdeenshire this weekend.
Just two years after Andrew Gordon took the helm of a well known butcher’s firm on Aberdeen’s Chattan Place, Andrew Gordon Butchery & Fine Foods will open its doors on Stonehaven’s Evan Street this Saturday (July 3rd).
Under Andrew’s careful eye, the shop has been transformed thanks to a six figure investment which includes a complete fit-out by Midlothian-based Watco Refrigeration, and counters and equipment hand-built in Italy.
Following weeks of preparation and the recruitment of four new staff, the shop will officially open with a day of product tastings, extensive counter display, free refreshments and a touch of celebrity glamour thanks to Chris Capaldi who stars as Glen in Quality Meat Scotland’s Scotch Beef advertising campaigns. He will perform the opening ceremony at mid-day.
A range of locally inspired products will be launched in first few weeks of opening boasting names such as Ury, Cowie and Fetteresso. In addition will be the chance to buy from the new gluten free range which was unveiled at the recent Taste of Grampian food festival.
Commenting on Saturday’s opening, Andrew Gordon said: “This is something of a homecoming for me because I trained and worked as a butcher in Stonehaven for more than a decade before a change of path took me overseas.
“The Aberdeen shop has rapidly established a reputation for high standards and top level quality along with an element of luxury and the opening of the Stonehaven shop will take our range to an even wider audience.”
Andrew added: “None of this would be possible without the ever growing support of our increasing customer base, our dedicated professional team and the passion we have for what we do.”
