The UK’s leading water quality engineering firm has continued its ambitious expansion plans by unveiling a new addition to its senior sales team.
Panton McLeod – which is the UK’s leading expert in providing repairs, cleaning and inspection services for facilities used to store drinking water – has recruited former Petrofac business development analyst Niall Armstrong to help grow its sales presence across the country.
The 26-year-old Heriot-Watt university graduate has been appointed as Panton McLeod’s new sales & marketing assistant, and will work closely with operations director Paul Henderson to oversee new sales contracts and improve the firm’s profile throughout the UK.
Niall said: “I was very impressed with Panton McLeod and the high profile work that it performs in the UK water industry, so I’m delighted to be joining the team. It’s clear that the company has established itself as the leader in its field and I’m looking forward to helping it grow further in the coming years.
“Moving back to the Scottish Borders was also a big factor for me. I studied at Heriot Watt’s Galashiels campus and I also have family in the area, so the move to Panton McLeod is a perfect fit.
“I like the fact that the firm is proud of its Borders heritage and has its headquarters located here, while also providing high-profile work across the whole of the UK. I’m looking forward to bringing my expertise to Panton McLeod and helping the company expand its influence for many years to come.”
Prior to joining Panton McLeod, Niall spent two years with Petrofac, a leading service provider to the global oil and gas industry, in their Aberdeen office – where he worked in the firm’s business services department before being promoted to the role of business development analyst within the sales and marketing team. He was also previously employed as a business development analyst for Aberdeen-based Raeburn Recruitment Specialists.
The appointment is the third major staff addition that Panton McLeod has made over the past year. It follows the appointment of Scottish civil engineer Barclay Smart and business development manager Colin Gibbs at the end of 2009.
Iain Weir, Panton McLeod’s managing director, said: “We are currently undertaking a major expansion of our repairs division and are growing our influence further across the country – so it’s a very exciting time for Panton McLeod at the moment.
“Although we’re the market leader when it comes to cleaning and disinfecting the UK’s drinking water facilities, we’re always looking to improve our services and broaden our reach further. Niall’s business experience will help us maximise our sales and marketing presence and allow us to expand into new areas throughout the country.
“We’re delighted to have him on the team and I am sure he will become an extremely valuable asset for the business in the coming years.”
Panton McLeod is one of the best-known names in the water industry, working with the biggest companies on the inspection, cleaning and repair of drinking water structures.
In the past decade, the firm has grown from its headquarters in Newtown St Boswells in the Scottish Borders, adding further offices in Nottingham and in the United States. The U.S. base in Denver, Colorado, is the hub for its North American division Panton McLeod Americas – which is currently revolutionising the way drinking water storage and treatment structures are cleaned and disinfected across the USA.
