A North-east manufacturing company, which was recently created following a successful management buyout, has completed the formation of its senior management team.
Ellon-based LFH Engineering was established by local businessman, Les Hill, last month following his purchase of the pump manufacturing division of Peterhead-based Terex Powertrain Ltd – a subsidiary of US-based global manufacturing firm, Terex Corporation.
Mr Hill, who was previously the plant manager at Terex Powertrain, took all 26 staff who were employed within the pump manufacturing division with him to LFH Engineering as part of the deal, and has now made a number of additional senior level appointments.
The company which specialises in the manufacture of marine diesel engine coolant pumps and is predicting first year sales of £2.5million, has appointed Chris Leiper as Finance Manager.
Chris, 42, brings a wealth of industry experience to the role having held posts in both the manufacturing and oil and gas sectors over the past 25 years, latterly with Wood Group (North Sea).
Kathleen Singleton, Sales and Marketing Manager, and Scott Pilkington, Production Manager, have also been appointed. Both previously worked with Mr Hill at Terex Powertrain.
Scott, 42, has more than 20 years experience within the pump manufacturing industry and will use this knowledge to ensure LFH Engineering has a productive and efficient production team in place to ensure clients’ needs are met.
Kathleen, 52, previously held a management and HR role within Terex Powertrain. She will be responsible for providing front-line support to ensure the growth of the business, both within the UK and overseas.
Completing the team is Neil McArthur, 64, who has joined as company Chairman. With more than 40 years experience within both the financial and industrial sectors, Neil is also currently Chairman of the Cromarty Firth Port Authority and a Non Executive Director with the Enterprise North-east Trust.
Mr Hill, LFH Engineering Managing Director, is delighted to have secured the services of such an experienced management team.
He said: “These appointments provide LFH Engineering with the stable platform from which to continue to grow and explore new markets for our products, whilst always focusing on our key aim of providing the highest level of service and customer care as possible.
“The team we now have in place has a proven track record and brings together a wide range of industry experience and expertise which ensures we are well-positioned within the marketplace from the outset.”
LFH Engineering is based at Castlepark Industrial Estate, Ellon, and has an impressive client list including Rolls Royce and Caterpillar.
