Traditional local produce may be in danger of falling by the wayside with the next generation, according to a survey, but Waitrose is ensuring today’s local produce is a fixture for future generations through its Made in Britain campaign.
According to a Country Living Magazine survey into knowledge and awareness of traditional foods, the younger generation have missed out on more than the Sixties. Cullen Skink may make the mouth water if you are over a certain age, but for those under 24, it is a mystery.
In fact, so few young people (18-24) throughout the country are aware of their culinary heritage, they are in danger of being lost forever.
