Celebrated artist Adam Barker-Mill has unveiled a major new work at Peacock Visual Arts this weekend.
Famous for his beautiful colour installations Barker-Mill has transformed Peacock’s gallery into a space that will make visitors see the world in literally a whole new light.
The work entitled ‘Colour Play’ has been built especially for the Castlegate-based Gallery. It is the most recent contribution to the artist’s impressive CV which features international shows at Osaka, London and Germany as well as Scottish dates in the Fruitmarket, Edinburgh and the Pier Arts Centre in Orkney.
The London based artist’s work is preoccupied with colour and light and has been described as ‘poetic, ingenious and profound’.
As a child an early interest in light within dark spaces was sparked by frequent visits to Wookey Hole caves in the Somerset village where he was born and brought up. Barker Mill then began
